    My memory is not what it used to be. Its the engine oil that is shared with the mid drive.

    If the 1100 middle drive shares the engine oil the same as the XJ650 and XJ750, the idea is that there is very little fluid that comes out of the middle drive after the engine oil has finished draining from the engine oil plug.

    The large percentage of people who ruin the middle drive plug trying to remove it causes the XJ community to have adherents who just leave the middle drain plug alone. If you don't touch it, you can't ruin it.

        Transmission and engine uses the same motor oil.

        Mid drive has it's own gear oil.

        Final drive has it's own gear oil.

        There are three separate drain plugs,
