Yep, in my younger days, it was the place to go play Surtees. Last May, on the Old Bike Ride, we came back that way, and it started to sprinkle, and a BMW bandit forgot that that is the slickest time on the surface, and sure enough, he wiped out. Hurt feelings more than anything.
I think coming down is worse than going up, because you can't use power to save yourself. You better be right on your entry speed the first time.
If the side marker stones were all there I'd have felt a little better. Being that sections were missing to me meant some one met the END, over the side.
Stopped in a bar at the top but turned around and walked out when they said it was all you could drink, ($10 admission). I asked if they lost many customers, man at the door said not too many ? ? ?
