    The guy at the bearing store says he has the bearings in stock, under $5 ea., guess no one is interested, no replies to my Bearing post ?

      noise, can't believe the cable caused the noise that sounded like the speedo. I wonder if the cable vibration could transfer to the speedo and cause it to grenade ? ? ?

        Yes.
        Shock load on gear teeth is a definite cause of failure.

          could be a sign of impending failure of the speedo caused not by speedo but by the vibes coming from a cable in need of lubing or fraying.
