Thanks T.C. for getting me registered.

I don't do social media or participate in any other forums so I'll be figuring this out as I go.

I bought a 79 xs 1100 special about 4 years ago as a project and never had much time to get it on the road. I've made some career changes so I should have more free time now and I'm hoping participating on the forum will serve as inspiration to keep me going.

About the bike....from what I can tell its a complete bike except the grab bar is missing. When I got the bike the carbs were removed so I rebuilt them and found 2 cylinders were dead. The pick up wires were broken so that was a pretty simple fix. I bought two new dyna coils for it, (have not installed yet) and updated the fuse panel. Of course it needs tires and the brake system needs to be rebuilt. I also have some wiring to redo for the lights.

I'll post pictures once I figure it out

Posting pictures is not as easy as some sites. You can't really post them here. You have to open an account (free) on another site like photobucket.com, and then put pictures there. Once up, you can link the photo's via an .img tag to this site. There is a real explanation http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7387.
For the wire repairs, check out http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/. Tony has most of the connectors needed, and he is/was an XS1100 owner and a great guy! I like his reg/rec, as it starts charging at a lower RPM than the stock, and is much more robust.
Oh, and welcome to the site! I know once you get the bike running properly, you will understand why we all like them so much.

Here it sits with 4 years of dust. I moved it to the bike lift thinking if its in my way I'll actually work on it. I wrench for a living so I don't always feel like doing it in my free time.
