Recently my old battle ship started jumping g and bogging at about 5000rpm. I'm running 145 mains jets, Mac 4-2 exhaust, and pod air filters. I checked the pick up wires and thier solid and just replaced the fuel filters and lines. Any ideas guys? Speed limit is 80 here in Montana and that's too close for me to think I'm running lean. Love this old bike and do NOT want to F it up. Any advice is good advice. Thanks again guys!

Pull the mufflers off that Mac system and see if that makes it better. I had to build some custom baffles for mine to get it to work right.Greg

I dunno.
Ended up buying a Mac flare tip system with removable baffles and building my own straight through baffle. Runs GREAT now.

Good idea
Good thought bikerphil. Thanks to that I have now discovered that my petcocks are frozen open....THEY PUKE FUEL.....no leaks though, lol. No change still bucks n jumps. A while ago I was rocked by the impulse to "rinse" the muffler's out, heard that the baffles plug up so I'm going to look at those. For now I'll take the back roads and keep her off the interstate.79 XS11 F

so no kinks in te fuel lines and they are clean seafoamed a tank of gas ?
new plugs and a chop test at 5000 rpm shows ?? did you try 1/2 choke? at 5000 rpm make a difference ? yeah yeah ..but its easier to type than mixture enriching lever
change the needles to richer for a run see if that helps or maybe you need summer air in the blinker fluid reservoir :-DLast edited by hamjam; 08-23-2016, 05:45 PM.Seamus Ó hUrmholtaigh
