Marty had an accident, he is going to be hurting. Most likely the next few days he will be hurting most of all but pain is good.
Pain good, no pain, bad, YES ?
Happened in NE Tenn. Wife had to drive up i think to Abingdon VA and pick him up. Apparently OK. But not the bike. He was riding his Moto Guzzi not one of his Yama's. Likely he will post here later today.

To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.
I hesitate to comment here as I am sure everyone is looking to hear from Marty. Not really my place to add here....... But, I know he has TONS of friends here that are worried about him.
I was texting back & forth with Marty after the accident. He was treated and released from a local hospital. In his words: "Got his bell rung". His helmet shows some real evidence of the accident.
According to Marty, he has; a sprained ankle, numerous contusions, and raspberries.
He is a VERY lucky man and it sounds like our friend will be just fine. Although I am sure he is very sore today!
Judging by the photo of the bike he sent me..... The Moto-Guzzi is junk.
All these bikes can be replaced. Luckily our friend is gonna be OK.
I had a great time at the Virginia rally, but unfortunately, I met with an accident on the way home. I'm banged up, but mostly uninjured. Damage to my helmet earned me a CAT scan. I got away with a headache. My gear kept me from any road rash. I snapped these photos while still a little disoriented. Common sense told me to get in the ambulance and go to the hospital.
Packed up to leave Willville.
The turn through to tunnel is about 120 degrees. I remember being distracted by the tunnel and it blocks the view through the remainder of the turn. I got way too close to the center line. I was also noting the truck crowding or over it coming the other way. I remember closing in on the truck and I remember standing in the road with a bunch of people around. Whatever happened in between is gone. Bystanders told the EMT's I was disoriented. I have no clue how fast I was going, but with all the people about, it couldn't have been nutty. I tend to mind speed limits when traveling alone, but I enjoy a spirited pace through the turns.
I practice countersteering often, but the evidence here shows low side brakes full on. The truck hit the down bike. It worked out well as far as my body is concerned. I'll never know if I could have ridden inside the yellow lines without the brakes. With the tunnel there, I may have accelerated early. I'll never know. It all happens in nanoseconds and there is no time to think it through. Instinct takes over. I'm just glad the bike didn't stand up and drive into the truck. I might not be sending this message.
I departed the scene before the police arrived, so I still have to deal with that. The bike is in impound in Mountain View, TN. I still have to deal with that. It's five hours away and I have no truck or trailer. So, there's another decision to make. I'm sure it's not worth saving, but the value of the parts is a consideration.
The accident happened Sunday late morning. On Monday, the headache is gone. I seem to be bruised everywhere. My right shoulder, elbow, and ankle are the worst, but it's mostly bruises and raspberries caused by clothing abrasions. My leather jacket is scuffed everywhere. The Sliders lined trousers appear to have saved me some skin as well. There are holes in my gloves, and my hands lost no skin. I showed the doc in the hospital my helmet. I think they were all pleased not to have to put Humpty Dumpty together again.
So, my wife made a ten hour trip to retrieve my sorry ass.
I had to take the four and a half hour ride of shame with her. I called her from the ambulance with very spotty cell service. All she got was "accident". Several painful minutes for her before we could speak. She didn't give me any crap, but I know she would be very happy if I gave up the bikes. That seems unlikely. I lament to loss of a great bike. It was working well for me. Too bad I screwed the pooch.

Marty was checked out at a hospital and released so not real bad. Still !
He said he would get back to me as yet he has not.
I'm sure he will when everything settles down. I'm sure he will write to the list once he feels better.
His bike is 5 hours away, his wife had to go pick him up, he called this his ride of shame, wife having to pick him up at such a distance.
Anyway a kind of relay could be set up to get his bike home ?
Marty, glad you're Ok. Thankfully the XS11 site is back up cause I heard about you and the bike and couldn't get more info. Hopefully you can get a pickup truck, maybe dissemble the bike from what you can salvage and get what you can home if you feel it's worth while.
Anyway, glad you were doing well on your last post. Hopefully now that they got the DNS issue resolved you can file an update.

It's great to hear from you, Marty!
Any time you can walk away from an accident like yours with only the injuries you've mentioned, it's something to be very thankful for ...
So glad you're still with us!
And this is yet another lesson for all of us ...
