Does anyone have an idea how to fix the stress cracks on the lower half and the upper ABS plastic. The brown and gold flaked paint also need to find a color mach poss: paint no. Finally does any one still make the replacement windshield?

I used a flattened piece of PVC pipe (Cut in half, then use boiling water and some pressure to flatten it out) and glued it inside with pipe cement (the same stuff you use to seal plumbing joints). Made a surprisingly strong bond!

I had a little incident a few years back when I loaded my bike into a trailer when moving and found the trailer door about 1/2 too short for the windshield. I just recently took the fairing off to do some electrical work and found some significant damage because if it. I had previously used a plastic welder and some abs sticks to repair the cracks and will probably do that again. I am also going to use a clotges iron and some stainless steel screen mesh and melt the mesh into the plastic before repainting. Mesh I'll only be on the bottom, around the mounting flange and up about 1 inch, also on the bottom of the inside.Nathan

Plasti-Mend. It's sorta spendy but it really works on PVC. I had to repair a BADLY busted up PVC holding tank on my RV. Worked AWESOME! I ordered the "quart" kit and bought some screen at the hardware store. It's really nasty stuff so use it OUTSIDE. It actually melts the PVC back together.
The rebuilt tank in questions. No more leaks! woohoo!

Heres what worked for me. Cracked, OEM Yamaha bags and stress cracks in Windjammer. Get a can of ABS glue, should be easy find at Home Depot/Lowes. Make sure it says for ABS. Then procure some fiberglass cloth or mat depending on how big the break is and if it will show. Rough up the cracked/damaged area with 3M pad. Clean well with lacquer thinner or acetone (put cigarette out BEFORE this step). Cut the cloth or mat to fit the area. Slather the area with cement and lay patch material over it. Soak the patch with the cement and let dry. Patched can then be sanded and refinished. IF you still have cracks showing on the "see me" side, and want to repair those. Get some ABS plastic from your local hobby shop. Use a file and make a fine dust out it. When you have enough dust, mix the ABS cement till the mixture is thick enough to work, kinda like bondo. Prep the surface, cleaning the crack out very well. Slather the plastic/glue mixture on it and let dry/cure overnight. The fix should be hard or harder than the parent plastic and can be finished with normal sanding, primer and paint. Remember, Bondo or fiberglass resin will not sick for long to ABS.When a 10 isn't enough, get a 11. 80g Hardbagger

Webbcraft, That is basically what I did to fill in the old speaker holes that the PO had put in my fairing. Although I used several layers of the fiberglass mat to help fill in the depth of the holes.Nathan

I made a structural repair to a faring. I used snipped-up fiberglass matting and two-part epoxy resin glue. The mounting corner of the faring had broken and separated! This is a messy process (wear gloves) but three years later, it held perfectly. You want to make sure that your mounting rubbers produce even stress.Skids (Sid Hansen)

Everything was replaced about 12 years ago by the retired PO. His son inherited it and he sold it to me due to lack of interest in it. Dodge 440. Brake work was #1. Everything is working now. Plan to go somewhere this summer. Will drag along the XS11 for sure where ever I go.1) Fire up Internet Explorer
