Thanks Rasputin & Brant for the advice. Tie down did not come with the bike and i never gave it too much thought. I guess I will have to fabricate something after i sort the electrics.

And NOBODY said anything about the hold down and screw?? It is a sheet metal bar from the lower right to the upper left, as you look at the battery. Pull the screw off the top, tilt out, and unhook the bottom off the battery tray. The battery can now be pulled out IF you have both terminals unbolted.
Take seat off, Then left side cover. Then remove the keeper bar, then you can remove the battery connections, and slide the battery out the left side.

Thanks all! But still can't figure out how to lift seat. I do have that tie down rod. I have removed it and also have disconnect ground. But's that's as far as I've got. It's that darn seat I'm having trouble with.
Btw, I found the tool kit! It's never been used either. Pretty neat the way it's stored.
Anyway, back to figuring out how to lift the seat.

Hi Ed, to remove the seat look under each side and find the 14mm nuts that hold the seat on, loosen them til the stud they are screwed onto slides forward in the slots of the seat hold down bracket. The stud and nut will slide out of the U shaped slot of the frame clip and lift the seat from the rear, it will then slide out of the hold down at the front if you pull towards the rear. GL hth
