The front brakes work fine, but I cant stand looking at the front brake reservoir any longer. Its as yellow as Smaug's teeth. Dug through 10 or 15 pages of old posts with the search feature but only found a suggestion about treating the plastic like a headlamp cover. I'm OK with that since the replacement part does not seem to be available. Anyone ever tried it? I would also need the O ring under it. The bike is 100% stone stock or NOS with the exception of the tires and battery. OK, a few well chosen SS fasteners.

You might try checking with Andreas. He might have a front master cylinder that's in better shape.I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

I had one that I painted black, it looked much better, cheap fix. If your bike is 100% stock, I can see why you would want a good original replacement.2H7 (79) owned since '89

Truth is, a new master cylinder with a slightly smaller bore would give your brakes a much better feel. But then, it wouldn't be original.Marty (in Mississippi)
