      So I got the new rubber seals for the petcocks and went to put everything back on the tank. Then found out the hard way that the tank seal product filled just enough into the screw holes for the petcock that I couldn't get the bolts in! So out comes the die and tap set. So add one more the list of things to keep in mind when sealing a tank
      79F with two parts bikes (78E and a 79F). Ran it for the first season all the way through the summer. more work to do this Spring!

        Well, its been a couple or more decades ago, so CRS, but true if left in contact with metal that has surface rust for a long period.

          I've looked and looked.. I can't find anything that even SUGGESTS what you're saying. They say it's not great for anything long term due to it evaporates and leaves a waxy coating that's hard to remove, but absolutely nothing about being metal corrosive.
