Greetings Folks! I'm doing some valve adjustments on my XS1100. I need a 240, 235, 250 shims (one each). Figured I check with the Noble XS11 Members before hitting other sources.
Any assistance appreciated!

but didn't listen. The problem with valve shims is that no matter what the best intent was, no one ever sends the old ones back. I've been burnt now a few times, the latest time by alaskey. We try to help out here but in this case I don't have the numbers you need, try rasputin.

I just checked the limited spare set I have, and most of them were in the 280 range, found one 245 which is right in the middle of the range wanted, but not exact!?
I don't know if any of the other LOCAL's would have any spares, but they might, try sending them a PM. And there's a newer semi local(Gloucester) fellow we(George and RichV and myself) met at the last XS Southeast rally. His username is Laruplus3 (Larry).
Quick search shows this site as a source, note that Kawasaki and BMW also use the 29mm shims, so you might be able to get some "used" ones from a local dealer . http://newmotorcycleparts.net/motor_...lve_shims.html

Keith,
Be aware some other brands use a shim 29.5mm in diameter which do not fit so take along your caliper to be sure. Almost impossible to tell by eye.

Checked my stash and I'm only good for 265 and up... I have a carp load of 265s if anyone is in need. lol
We have a small bike shop close to us that will often trade shims. You might just need to call around locally to find one that can help you out while you try to find help online.

If I can make at least one person smile, or pee their pants a little, or maybe spit out their drink; then my day is not wasted.
I bought my last shims from Jet-R-Us $6.69/ea + ~$8 shipping.
They are aftermarket shims, but they are fine.

I have 6 - 245's, 6 - 255's and 1 - 230. Closest I can come to matching what you need. Might tear apart another couple of bad engines and see what is in them, but that will be a few months so no help to you.
