Ok, so I've read up on this and want to test to make sure my stator isn't going to rub against the rotor.
I removed the stator cover in the summer, and removed the three bolts holding the stator in place by accident. Of course I find out after I shouldn't have done that. I know the clearances are pretty tight, and that if anything gets misaligned it will short. I put everything back, and it went back together pretty well, but I'm worried I may have a problem now.
Any way to test this? I was thinking just measure the resistance across the coils at different positions to make sure it's not rubbing in any spots before I start the engine up. How does one realign the stator anyway if it needs to be repositioned?
