Cost to connect mufflers to exhausts?

I just got a quote to clamp two mufflers to the headers
2 hours of work for each muffler
4 hrs x $80 = $320 Cdn
Is this reasonable?

That's about $240 George Washingtons

Even at my ridiculously slow pace 2 hours would include lunch and a few beers Find someone else to do it or better yet do it your self.

Just clamping should not be a big deal. Clean off the rust and slip together Install to bike before final tightening of clamps.
Am I missing something? when I needed a small length of pipe expanded to slip on the cross over pipe (old one had rusted away) my local muffler shop not only expanded it for me but gave me the pipe too No charge

The header may need to be grinded down so the brackets fit where they are supposed to. The pic in my OP shows the new mufflers I bought (left shiny) with the old system (right) that came off Mack's SF. So I gave both sets to the guy and said make 'em match. He gave me this quote a few days later.

I was told by Canadian tire employees that it would need to be clamped and Tig welded. At this point I have no clue what's involved. When I search online for this info I get even more confused. So I'm in the dark, facing a huge bill, I dont mind paying it if it's done right the first time or that if there's a mistake they fix it at no cost to me.

whoa..slow down...I dont believe the estimate of 4 hours to do this job...2 hours sounds right...but take the time to find someone by word of mouth ...someone who is recommended to you maybe? Doesnt Mack know anyone who is reputable?

Trust the advice of people here that is way to much for the job and usually when the cost is high the quality is low so there is no guarantee that they do not do a crappy job either. Find someone else.

I've been asking since July what mufflers to buy to fit the stock headers I was given. Why is this such a hard thing for me to accomplish? First I buy the wrong mufflers because I have no idea about inlet sizes. Then buy the right inlet size but don't know how to put it together. I ask my welder to do it and he is charging way too much. Fk it. I'll just give him $320 to never have to deal with this issue ever again. What a clusterfk!
