Well, since he is all back together been riding to work. As I was pulling into my parking space it died no power all lights out bump back on just a hick up. I got on rode almost all the way home, perfect then died no power. I put a new battery and cleaned all the grounds great. I went out and no power now, tested battery ok got power to the part the pos cable bolts to.

Check the main power wire from the battery, it may be broken making intermittent contact. And it's connector.

Also the main fuse.

I had the same issue - the bike would die for no apparent reason, then started working again. I found the issue to be crimp job I did on the new fuse box ( I apparently suck at crimping, I used cheep crimping tool) I need to buy better tools

i had a similar issue, problem ended up being the big white electrical connector behind the fuse box, the connectors were in desperate need of a good cleaning.

Well seat off wiggle jiggle everything and it seems to be coming from that wire connector that goes over or beside the air intake rubber got it to turn and off by moving that around

Well pretty sure I found it. I was getting the dying while wiggling the two red wires that go over the rubber air intake. Well I pulled the rubber fuse holder and one fuse had the end off, two new fuses and seems to be the fix

Hey Jeff,

Good find! That's the separate MAIN fuse that Yamaha put on the other side of the bike vs. the fuse panel! Mine was also a GLASS fuse, I got a SOLID ATCO style holder and put it on in place of the glass one! Would highly suggest you do the same in the near future. You'll want to get one with some 10-12 gauge wire and can handle 30 amps!

Doubtful..............likelyhood of faulty connections is MOST likeley as BA80 stated.
