Neutral light on in fifth gear

Every once in awhile the neutral light comes on and it flickers in fifth gear. Sound like a wiring problem or something In the gears? Rides great in fifth gear with no problem when light comes on. Thanks

The switch is under the engine, on the left side. You can see the wire come out of the bundle that goes to the pickup coils. My guess is the wire has worn through, and is grounding on the engine or frame, and lighting the little green light.

Shorting in the harness with the pick up coil wires. They and the neutral light wire are all in there together.

Justinc1081, the plug behind the fuse panel for the pick up wires is probably getting water in it and shorting the connector. Pack that connector with dielectric grease and I bet the issue goes away.
