If you run over a big rock, you may have to do this to your oil pan:
I've seen some unusual repairs before, but this one stands out. Looks like a little tig welding in combination with some JB Weld got this 1981H back on the road again. Sure glad this has not happened to me (yet)!
Cannot bring myself to leave this on the bike. Got a pan from Andreas and am preparing to replace the re-engineered one. His pan included drain plug and pan bolts shipped for $24. I think that is a very good deal:
Oil pan prep included glass bead blasting, a bath in the ultrasonic cleaner, casting flash removal inside and out, and a coat of Cast Aluminum paint. All that work for something you will never see?
