  • help! got to work and no fuel is going to carbs 1 and 2

I ride 50 miles to work today and the bike starts shuddering at low speeds. I put seafoam in the tank last night and let it sit. I pull into work and look at my fuel filter and it's dry, no fuel is getting to the 1 and 2 carbs. The fuel filter is located right before the line goes to the carbs. I have tools with me and I pulled one of the hoses off the petcock and fuel rushed out. I didn't pull the other hose. You think it's a petcock or octopus?

I tried putting petcocks on prime on off in every way possible but there's still no fuel getting to the filter. (I have the see through filters)

If you run a hose from the rear outlet on the fuel tap directly to the filter and then on to the 1+2 carbs, fuel should then run with the selector in the 'on' or 'reserve' position. Octy will be bypassed that way. As long as fuel comes out that tap, then I would think there is a problem with the octy. Make sure no lines are pinched when reinstalling the tank. GL

That's what I was just thinking. The petcock nipple closest to the front of the bike flows fine. I didn't check the rear one. I'll have to shut off the petcock when I turn the bike off right? Going at lunch to get extra fuel lines

The front outlet should be for the prime position on the selector. I would use the rear outlet, check to make sure it flows fuel first in the on/res positions. Yes turn off the fuel (fuel tap off position) when done riding the bike.
