The carb I had in the dip was only a painted one. Matter of fact it was an older one which I should have looked before I put it in the dip. I am not worried about the cost of the dip as I obviously already have it. I really liked the way it has worked on the last couple of sets and will stick with it.
So I will dip the set when the time comes and see if I have to repaint. If I did not already have the dip I would sure give the boiling a chance though. The ultrsonic route with dip would be awesome.

My ultrasonic actually has a heater in it! When I clean the carbs, I can get the temp up to about 160F. I think that is one of the reasons it's so good at it.
