Knock them out and take them to a bearing supply house. There's nothing special.

      Geezer,

Have I missed a post or is there a supplier other than Yamaha that has the left rear bearing? I even went direct to Koyo on that one and they don't even admit that they made it!

I bit the bullet and paid the piper his $40.

If you've got another source, please share it with us.

I haven't had to replace one of those so you're probably right but McGuire Bearing in Portland, OR has never let me down.

The manufacturer of the bearing is NTN, a Japanese company. From what I've heard, good luck finding it. There are a lot of bearings that are limited availability like that. A cylindrical roller bearing is going to be more expensive than a ball bearing anyway due to the manufacturing process. If your local dealer's margin is 40%, you would save $16 if you found it elsewhere. I used to work for Koyo Corp. so I called my friends at Koyo, with no success. For $16, I chose not to spend any more time on it. Unlike the other bearings, you'll never be able to get that one sealed or shielded due to the size and application.
