Sorry,....just going off what Prisoner6 said. Led me to believe all the special tanks, of any displacement, were the same. When I looked up wave washer for xs1100 it says obsolete. Other cc XS models are in stock.

I understand it has to be for a special.

And ONLY an XS1100 Special. As an example, the XS650 Special uses a petcock that will interchange with an XS1100 standard. All Specials are not the same.

Take a break. You're getting this wrong. You have a tank for a Special. The fuel cocks are completely different than the standard in both size and function. The picture is from a 1980 XS1100SG. If you have a Special tank, you need to use the Special diagram. See item #20-33. PN 10L-24518-00-00

        Jet,
Got it, thanks. I was looking under 79 special 1100 and it said obsolete. Just found your 80SG.

        Thanks all!

I don't know why, but the XS1100SF parts catalog has been removed from the Yamaha site and therefore, all the vendor sites.

Did anyone here copy the SF catalog?

If anybody has it, TC probs would. Cat does not have it on his site. But, I just use the UK Benefiscal site:

The other dealers I was using besides Partzilla/Boat.net have not had the SF for long while. I was so disappointed when it disappeared from their parts catalog a couple of months ago.

                Rob,

Sorry for the misunderstanding. That was not the intent of my post.

I was trying to say that if you had a Special petcock, Partzilla had the wave washers available for all Yamaha Special petcocks ... so they would certainly have the washer for the 1100 Special.

I know ... clear as mud, right?

And we were still waiting to see if you had a Standard or Special tank, as well.

Just trying to give you some hope that you wouldn't have to buy a whole petcock just to get the wave washer.

I should have been clearer in my post. Anyway, enough said ...

I'm glad you picked up exactly what you needed. Keep us posted on your bike!

Hey Prisoner. No, you were clear,...it's just that the 79 model seems to have been pulled from inventory on all the sites. However Jet showed me that the 80 special 1100 is the same as the 79 and the 80 wave washer is in stock.

I wish these part houses would cross reference and just use the same part #'s if it's the same part

At any rate,..I have the wave washer and o-rings in my cart and ready to buy.

Also have the tank totally sanded down to bare metal. Just need a little aircraft stripper for the nooks and crannies like behind the emblem mount. Can't wait for paint and put back together. Thanks again!

Yeah, I noticed a couple of months ago that the parts catalog for the SF was missing from the Yamaha site, and that the vendor sites no longer had it either.

As an SF owner, I'm especially curious as to why ...

Anyone have any idea why Yamaha would remove it from their site?

I believe all of the vendors are linked to the Yamaha site, as the parts come from Yamaha warehouse. Yamaha pulled the SF, so there you go.

Yeah, Marty, that makes sense about the vendors.

But what I'm wondering is ... why would Yamaha remove the SF from their own site in the first place?

That's what is puzzling to me ...

It could be an error that happened when Yamaha updated their site. I just went there looking at 1979 models. They have XS650F, XS650_2F, and XS650SF. It doesn't make sense that the XS1100SF would be removed.

They remove older than a certain number of years all the time. Not much sells once a bike is 35 or so years old. Next year you wont be able to find an 80 on there either. Part numbers and parts get superceeded all the time as well. I will bet that any Yamaha shop has the wavy washer in stock as it would fit many petcocks made over the years.

                              Ras,

In this case, I'm not so sure about that ...

If you look on Yamaha's site at their parts catalog, they still have the '78 1100E Standard, as well as the '78 Specials in 650/750 variety.

For '79, again they include the 650/750 Specials, as well as the 1100F Standard ...

                              But no '79 1100SF ... Doesn't make sense ...

They have selected listings back to the early 1960's. The removal of the XS1100SF makes no sense.
