  • Brake Piston

Just cecked out Partsnmore and they don't have SINGLE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER REBUILD KITS
Fits front & rear: XS1100 E/F/G/H (78-81). I put new S/S brake lines on a weak caliper piston seal (Square O-ring) knew I shouldn't do it but got exited when the lines came in from Randy (AKA "The Swamp Thing") they just looked so damn good I couldn't wait. All lines held 14lbs pressure on MitiVac, thought I must of been wrong about O-ring. Had a cage driver that decided it was easier to back up the freeway exit ramp than to keep going thru a traffic light and back on freeway, (a total of about 45 seconds of his life) the correct way. Anyway I had to lock them up HARDDDDDD, I hit them like I used to have too. Ok bad idea, I mean I stopped on a dime with change. Gotta relearn how to ride with the new lines. Anyway does anybody out there have a good square O-Ring they can part with. Left front is leaking bad and now I can't bleed as when fluid comes out around it, air comes back in. Also mess's up my pretty caliper. and soaks the pads.

Oh yeh if you want to see the lines go to http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4286970403

I have several rebuild kits, but I don't currently remember what model they are for.
I will dig them out tomorrow and check for you.
I can't tell from your post though, are you looking only for a kit for ONE caliper, or all three?

      How many

Just one, but if price is right I might take a couple.

        Dave,

Sorry about your seals, but glad you stopped RIGHT NOW.

I haven't given it much thought because I'm doing a complete rebuild, but yeah, new parts will stress out the older weak ones every time. Ever get a repair going that never seems to end, one thing failing after another? the XS curse.

Anyway, I don't have any spare seal kits. Be careful and keep the rubber down.

        BTW, Great pics! Thanks.
