  • petcock ?

I'm buying a 79 xs. Have not seen it yet but pretty done deal. Just needs a tank. Found an 80 tank on ebay but it looks like it only has a spot for 1 petcock.

Are there some tanks or bikes that only came with 1 petcock? Or maybe I'm not seeing the picture well enough.

    Thanks
    Rob - 79 SF

750-850's have only one petcock IIRC and the tunnel on the tank itself too narrow to fit the 11's frame. Possible that someone eliminated one of the taps, that is what I did on both my 11's.

If that's the Baltimore Bike you could cream the tank it sounds like only a few pinholes on the seam. Not the best but do it right it can last a long time I used red coat still going fine

Much Thanks. It's in Scranton which is pretty far from ya. Otherwise I'd take you up on it. Plan on going out soon as this storm passes.

Nope, double petcocks on both bikes. Think of the 750/850's as the 11, with a cylinder missing. A few other differences like mechanical tach, no vacuum advance, CCT in the rear of the engine, etc.

Thanks Ian, I stand corrected. Will the tanks interchange though?

I have an XS750 tank in my inventory. An XS750 tank will not fit an XS1100. I expect an XS850 tank is very unlikely to fit.

The seat anchor would not line-up.
