I recently picked up a parts bike, which has a Kerker oil cooler on it. I'm planning on using it on my 80 special. My question is, how much more oil is required for this application?

Probably about 8 oz. The way to do it is after the oil change and install, fill to the top line, start and let the bike run for three minutes, then shut it off, wait for two minutes and check the level again. The level should only be down to the bottom line, so top it off as needed.Ray Matteis

I guess the newer people have not yet tired of the Oil Question.
In this case a better title might have been. Oil Capacity.

Honestly, I click on it to see if there are any new opinions, and love hearing the old heads. It was Marty and Greg, and a few more of you that introduced me to 20W-50 vs. the Rotella T5 I had been using. No Winter riding, so it'll get changed in the Spring.1979 XS1100F
