    That rubber piece is NOT an original part of the bike I don't think. The only thing it MIGHT be part of is the original battery hold down bracket.

    Does it have a groove in the outside like it fits and locks into a hole?

      Looks identical in size and configuration of the tapered sealing rubber under the cap where plug wire attaches to coil off a set of Honda VF coils.
