[QUOTE=dschmitta;447737]they are original oem shocks. haven't checked or adjusted air pressure since change. figured they would do correct pressure when changed. QUOTE]

I'll bet NOT! If air rear shocks are anything like air front shocks, they hold so little air that even the act of checking pressure loses a significant amount. You don't really check the pressure in air shocks. You get your portable air tank up to the pressure you want, and you apply the chuck to each valve a few times so everything comes out to equilibrium. If you don't have a portable tank to do this, you can shut off your compressor, bleed it down to desired pressure, then do the balancing thing.

My guess is your shocks have 'gone flat'. Pressure them up correctly, and see if your problem is solved.

I think he was talkin about the tire pressure. I recommended he check what the shop aired the tire up to. Too much air in the tire will ride like a steel wheel. I believe he has the standard OEM shocks not air shocks.

If the tire isn't bottoming out, (rubbing on top), then the only other thing is that the shocks are compressing to the point that the rubber snubbers at the top of the shock, (inside the cover) are hitting the body of the shock. If that is the case, then the springs are broken or weak, or not the right spring. Did the mechanic swap shocks with some 650 that was in the shop at the same time?
Measure the eye to eye distance on both shocks and the size of the spring wire and let us know.
