I am getting mixed reactions. Some say no big deal others say it's real bad, I know I used more than recommended and I suppose that could screw things up but considering mmo is considered an additive to help clean out gunk from your engine, I'd guess my engine is gonna be really clean now? Hahaha but I'm curious if the bike is running better now that it's been diluted enough, how important is it to change my oil? Also where would I get an oil filter for a 81 engine? I'm guessing that won't be at an advanced auto.

The diluted MMO in you fuel from the monstrous amount you initially put in the tank really hasn't, nor won't, do anything negative to the oil. It is just lubricating the upper cylinder and helping clean intake valves.
The 4-8 ounces you put in the crankcase is still doing its job, and in my opinion is just fine where it is. That is not near enough concentratin to thin the oil by any stretch.
MMO is basically a 5W oil, so imagine 1 cup (8 oz) mixed with around 3.5 quarts (112 oz) of 15w-40 or 20w-50.
Maybe the numbers put it in perspective. That amount will do no damage to your engine.Howard

I'll defer to your experience here. I understand that it IS an oil, but it also has "stuff" that breaks down varnish and gunk. I respect it similar to engine oil flush which is also not to be driven but just warmed up, allowed to soak a bit and then drained. And because of it's Thinning Properties is why "I" was worried about the oil getting too thinned....similar to FUEL/Gasoline that slips by the rings when carbs leak that gets into the oil and contaminates it that causes burned bearings and such! And we have heard of folks engines being ruined by the Gas/Oil mixes that have occured from leaking carbs.
SO...Michael...I wouldn't put too much stress/throttle or high rpms on the engine while running the MMO in it if I were you. You've got plenty of it for the gas mix and that's just fine. The stuff in the OIL has had plenty of time to do it's magic so changing it out would be my move. YMMV!

I would agree with what you say TC, there is a finite amount of time that the MMO would need to do its work in terms of a major cleanup in a gunked up engine. Anything longer and it would just be running nasty oil around in the engine. Changing is as much (in my mind anyway) to get the gunk out of there so it won't clog up passageways as anything, as I really believe the freeing of major gunk causes problems. You just don't hear the bad stories in engines that get a regular dose of MMO, it is usually the old engines that get a large dose and then spin a bearing from gunk compromising oil flow. At least that's my theory...
How would it sound to recommend an oil change at this point, and add a maintenance dose (lower dose) of MMO for an oil change or two to finalize the cleaning, per se? It's not the major cleaning that does the work, or is best, but it's usually a better bet to let time take care of things and use small amounts over longer time.
As an aside, I got a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5 years ago with 171,000 miles on it and it had been driven in the city for most of its life. Looking in the oil fill hole in each valve cover showed it had lots of room for cleaning. Put MMO in for 500 miles before changing the oil that came in it and I had black flecks showing on the dipstick. No flecks since the first change. Now has 214,000 miles on it and going strong!Howard

Thanks so much all of you! It's been super helpful learning all this. I got some 20w50 oil and all I need is the filter. It's been running smooth and all the mom in the gas tank is pretty much diluted out. It's probably all gone. I'll change the oil soon.
