  • Clutch Lever pull,,??

I'd like to ease my clutch pull to "real easy",,
It's not bad now, but I broke my wrist a few years back and since I've started
riding again, I've found my wrist getting sore, stiff and even swelling.

Do you know of any simple mods or tricks?
    XJ1100

    Thanks,
    L.A.

Be surprised what a difference a new clutch cable will make.

Dunno how true it is or not, but a dealer told me the MP cables have a different plastic that allows the cable to slide better.

          lube it

with some good graphite based lubricant. It makes a difference, might not be enough for you with the injured wrist, but it made mine easier to pull. The manual says to just use some 30w oil but I like the graphite stuff.

Doesn't really change pull pressure to disengauge clutch.

In a green can, Cable Life cable lube sprayed down in a new MP clutch cable before installation is magic.

                leverage

                Hi L.A.
you could also try lengthening the small lever behind the clutch cover that the cable attaches to...or fab a replacement so you ca re-install the original later if you don't like the feel...Don't add too much as the action changes.

I love this Slick 50 1 lube, it seems to last for years. Much cheaper than Tri
                  Flow or
Dura lube, cables, chains anything that has friction.

Some time how the cable is routed can cause the cable to bind against its case. With some cables the lining on the cable is soft and when its in a bind. In a short time the cover will bind in the casing mainly causing issue when pulling. If you put weaker springs in clutch it will slip under load better to do hydraulic mod or lengthen the leaver under the case than reduce spring pressure.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.
