The B&H seat covers are an exact fit for the original seat pan. You would need to know if your seat pan was original or not. Usually, they have a sticker on the underside with the fuel line routing diagram on it. I just used the original foam for mine, as it was not damaged in the least. If you need that re-done, you might want to find a professional upholsterer to carve some for you.
    1980 XS850SG - Sold
    1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

I don't think mine is original, or the sticker fell off. But thanks, need to find a shop that is good at doing motorcycle seats.

I have a question to ask about attaching a "new" out of stock chrome (can't think of the name of it) to place baggage, groceries and what not with a bungee cord behind the seat, over fender, where can I buy the nuts and bolts accessories to attach it to frame of bike and make it look professional?

If you post a few pictures of it, I'm sure we could determine if your seat pan was an original.

As for the hardware to mount a luggage rack, I get all mine at Home Depot. Assuming you have a luggage rack designed for an XS11, it takes 4 bolts that will all be hidden in recesses or under the seat/tail light (depending on year/model). Do you have the rack with the sliding back rest built into it?

          Here is the seat:

The luggage rack has no padding at all.

where can I get the pads (feet) for bottom of seat?

hey just for a word of reference, I contacted Mac, the guy that made my seat to order a back up cover, and he said he tossed my pattern away and did not save it. I never thought to order two at the time of order, because I never knew how it would fit or look. Just pointing this out in the event you want to save your pattern on a remake or custom fit.
