There is someone that has used those, they even did a thread about it. Don't remember who though. I did save that seller so that when I need a new cover I plan on using them.

I'll let you know. Just ordered one of those for an 81 SH and am having a 81 SH seat modified with 850 SG foam to fit an 80 SG Saddleman cover that cost about $60 delivered.

Not happy with the saddleman cover, my upholsterer could not make it fit right, even with the slightly smaller 850 foam. He got it on but the stitching is stressed to the point of pulling apart. The decorative stitching is off and not even spaced correctly.
I'm taking pictures of it, taking it back off and sending it to them.
We shall see about mac32756 on ebay, it's been a while since I ordered it should have been here by now ?

                seat cover from Ilinois

I have bought a few seat covers from this guy...Two for my rd 350's and one you can see installed on my recent post" a few pics." No not the cowhide one..lol The stitching was a bit crooked as far as the pleats go but not too bad..Ya can't expect too much for 30 bucks though....The pleats help when you tag the throttle ...keeps ya from sliding back...

                  I received mean

I ordered mine and it appears he makes them as the orders go through. Prior to ordering, I explained that my 1979 Yamaha XS 1100 Special passenger sitting area raised up a bit, he seemed confidant it would fit, so I ordered it. He never asked for the seat pan dimensions and I wasn't sure if it would stretch to fit or what not.

Now this may or may not be the original seat pan, I purchased the bike from the 2nd owner, who purchased the bike in 1982, traded a set of guns for it back then from his neighbor, so I am not sure.

It appears a bit short when lying the seat on the fabric.

I sent mac32756 an 81 special seat cover off one of my spare seats (torn) so now he has the pattern for the 80LG & 81 LH/SH. I just sent him the 80SG seat cover from saddleman for him to copy. So soon you should be able to ask him for these too. He sent me the copied 81 LH/SH and it looked OK but the edge that gets hooked to the seat pan had no reinforcing like the saddleman but then the saddleman tore at those reinforced seams. Did not get a chance to see it on Ruby Tuesday as it was sold with the stip that a new seat cover would come with the bike. The bike is in Milwaukee and he is on business in Tex., told him I'd like to help him put it on when he returns.
I can't believe the shipping, mine was free S/H !!!

Will the Midnight Special seat cover for 80-81 fit the ordinary Special? I've seen some posts that suggest that they do, but nothing is quite definitive on the internet. I'm thinking about one of the 80-81 Midnight Special covers sold by mac32756 for my 80 XS1100SG.

I believe the Midnight covers, XS1100LG and XS1100LH, will fit the 1981 XS1100SH Special. The 1979 XS1100SF and 1980 XS1100SG each have their own exclusive seat cover. Only an SG cover for an SG, and only an SF cover for an SF. The SG shares the seat pan with the Midnights, so theoretically you can use a Midnight cover on the SG seat if you modify the cushion.

If you have the stepped seat the new one he just listed is from a pattern of an LG/LH/SH I sent him earlier. Should look like my 81 LH.

Now granted this is not one of his seat covers, keep in mind.

I just sent him a message to see if he could replicate the XJ OEM sunburst pattern and said I could send him an old one. B&H at motorcycle seatcovers.com does an EXCELLENT job... but when I bought mine, it was $60 or so. Now they've gone to $94+ shipping and priced themselves out.

Hopefully this guy can do a good job at this reasonable price. I told him if he does, I'd try to drum him up some business from here.

I was kind of wondering if he could do a King Queen seat cover for a early standard.
