  • Quick Question: Bike pulls to the right?

So my xj pulls to the right, and my only guess is because I lowered the front end, and measured the distance between the lower and upper triple in a very rudimentary way (tape measure). Is that my issue? Maybe one side of the fork is a little higher/lower? Could it be anything else? I don't notice while just riding normal, but if I'm just cruising and let go of the bars, it pulls to the right noticeably.
    Have:
    1994 FZR600
    1982 XJ1100

    Had:
    1996 YZF600R
    2001 Honda xr125
    Suzuki race 80
    Honda PW 50
    Etc.

    Getting:
    1977 DT400

Oh, then don't let go of the bars... Roads are crowned (high in the center, lower toward the shoulder for drainage) and you will have a right "pull" (gravity).

I assume you don't notice it til you let go of the bars? If so, yeah, don't let go of the bars.

BTW, ZRX carbs have the same spacing as the XS11... http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35462

A rudimentary measure isn't really where it's at. You need to get the forks exactly the same distance. I raised my XJR tubes (thereby lowering the bike..) by 10mm each side and didn't get it right the first time...same result as you...a pulling to one side. I'd get it exactly correct if I were you

Well aware of that, it was the same result even on a road banked pretty good to the left.

Alright, I'll check them and readjust. That is what I was assuming it was. Thanks for the info.
