I get sparks on 1-4 but think they're weak on 1979 xs1100f (my engine won't fire) and found in manual and on this forum is a test:
Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between Yellow/Green and Yellow/Red, and between White/Green and White/Red.
If I pull the four wire plug out of TCI box, my meter's needle doesn't move when I test resistance at the plastic connector between wires listed. I've tried with key on and off.
When I test resistance on the TCI box side I get readings, but, I'm thinking test should be to test wires to the box, not from the box.
Can someone confirm if I should be testing resistance between wires at the plug and not at the TCI box itself?
Thanks
