That's because there's almost nothing to wear out or go wrong with those grips. They just work, sort of like a bowling ball.
I wonder if all grips should be changed or recycled like tires even if they've just been sitting on a shelf and never been mounted on the handlebars. After all, it would be very dangerous and could cost lives if an old, hardened rubber grip failed or caused your hand to slip off the handlebar while you're riding.
