Hi all. I'm just testing the neutral switch off the bike. Am I right in saying that an ohmmeter, with a prong held onto the screw that the wire attaches to, and the other held on the body of the switch, should show a difference in reading when the little plunger on the switch is pushed in? ie no resistance when the plunger is pushed? I'm getting absolutely no difference in reading at all, so I'm wondering if the switch is no good?

Thanks for that. It looks like an ohmmeter should change reading when the plunger is pushed. It's not ding that so I reckon the switch is no good. I just bought a new one.....XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier.
