    Now you do.

Thanks CZ. If I am reading that diagram correctly, that wire should connect to a red/yellow wire in the harness leading to the TCI.

That diagram doesn't separate the solenoid from the starter and doesn't show the connection between them. It looks in there that the battery cable that comes off the + connection of the starter just runs up ad connects to that red/yellow wire. Could be confusing to someone who isn't experienced.

I wonder what other things on that diagram are unclear and confusing.

If it is not cranking at all though, that wire is not the problem. That green wire should not stop the starter from going.

Thank you so much. I will look for the red/yellow wire when I get back into town. It doesn't help that I am color blind as well. Do you have any idea where I am supposed to ground the handle bars. Everything was powedercoated and I would hate to start grinding where I don't need to.

That right there is your problem! The '79 grounds through the bars. You are going to need to either run your own ground wire or start grinding.

That switch control grounds thru the bars. Remove and wrap a piece of emory cloth around that mount area and remove the paint. Never be seen, and should resolve your problem.

I found a red with yellow stripe that wasn't hooked up. I had that marked as a "neutral switch". Is that where I should connect that green wire?

Went and looked at my SG and it does plug into a red w/yellow stripe wire on it. I would say that's where it goes Rev.
