Don't forget the rest of Europe ebay will have the same 5K7 footrests.

I think you could easily fab up some similar rests, the 5K7 rests are bent steel rather than the 2H9/2H7 cast steel ones.

If you got an old rusty lever and cut a 3" section out from 3" to 6" on your tape rule, the bend would end up where it should be, then paint black to hide join.

OR.... these levers do bend easily with a bit of heat and do retain their strength once cooled, you could cut and weld the lever under the toe pad, then straighten the original bend and re-bend in the 5K7 place.

      OR.... Buy a 5K7 lever http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/yamaha-xs1...#ht_2396wt_904 Description says a '78 but its a 5K7 lever.

Personally, I'd rework the one you have, a lot cheaper option.

If you're wanting to go for the complete Euro 5K7 look heres the fairing.

        http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-XS-...8#ht_25wt_1190

Includes the bracket. You'll need an 8" headlight.

            Tom

            Tom,

Thanks for those pictures of the peg mount/brackets been trying to work out how to make some for 6 months.

How thick is the plate steel that they are stamped from?

I've made a mock up and would really like to know heavy the material needs to be.

            Thanks

I've just been down and put a caliper on them, 10mm with powdercoat, so I'm guessing 3/8" would be Ok but I wouldn't go any thinner as there is a bit of flex in them due to their design, they do go up and over and back a bit to get the rear set position.
