So I got a set of side cover from IanMac (I believe) but the left side had a broken tab like we see so many times. After scouring the interwebs and finding myself disgusted with the prices people were asking for side cover that were intact I decided to get a little creative.
I had some aluminum angle bracket leftover from working on mounting an 883 sportster seat on my '79 so I fabbed a little bracket up that makes for a VERY nice replacement. It holds the cover on very snuggly and I'm sure is way more durable than the original plastic tab. If there is enough interest I'll draw up a tutorial explaining the dimensions and how I made one. It's a bit more complicated than what meets the eye because aluminum puts up a fit when you try to bend it a steep angles.
