    Back to the seat issue. I still say make your own pan out of fiberglass. It is really pretty easy and then you can make a seat that actually fits rather than trying to make a seat that doesn't fit, fit.

    Here are a couple explanations of how to make a fiberglass seatpans. After you make the seatpan then you can either put your own material on it or you can have an upholstery shop do it for you (boat shops are good places to have do that).

      Hi Gabe,
      the lock cylinder (the thing that's been drilled out in the photo) is contained in a little square cast module that is held into the gas cap by (mebbe M3, perhaps smaller, it's been a while) screws.
      Rather than fiddle with the lock cylinder itself I swapped the square block, cylinder and all. That lock and block is the only part that the two styles of gas cap have in common.
