Thought I'd post some pics of my bike as it's close to getting done. The CNC'd shiny bits are custom but I can reproduce them if interested.

Looking really good, RS. Seems like the mill has great detailing. I like the grips, too. It's a small detail, but they are old school, and will be very comfortable. Where were they purchased? Well done, so far, and thanks for posting them.79 F

Thanks for the reply. The grips are a Loser Machine item I bought at 'The Shop' in Vancouver, B.C.
The motor has quite a few little details. I filed the fins and other details, all stainless fasteners, aluminum motor mounts, high-temp coatings throughout. Stock internals except for re-jetting and 4-1 pipes and a Lockhart oil cooler. Want to stick a kick-start pedal for the finishing touch.79F cafe

The fork brace is a TKat piece and I designed the upper to share it's shape. There are no allowances for mounting gauges or the ignition but I'm looking to add to the design for those that want those options.
The rears sets I can't take credit for, they came with the bike. They're actually stock parts shortened and welded, then pedals and linkage made to fit. It's a sturdy set-up and I'm considering replicating these with CNC.79F cafe

If you decide to replicate them, sign me up. There seems to be choices out there for xs650's but nothing in the price ballpark or choice for 1100's. Spent so much time hiding the electronics and building a seat, those sets would finish'er nicely.81 H "Traumaha"

I appreciate all your corncern and yes, I've taken that into account. I have a solution using an old K&N filter I had laying around and a framework of aluminum that will essentially cover two stacks per filter. CNC of course.
The bike, when finished, won't really resemble the pics. I'm considering turfing the seat and I've designed a race tail that I can fab in aluminum. I'm also planning on painting the bike in Martini racing livery, using more contemporary Porsche influences.
Yeah, once in while I'll run'r without the the filters, but watdahell, it looks killer.79F cafe

You've done a killer job. I've ridden with Syd on that bike all over hell's half acre through the years. Where are you at? I'm out on Hammond Bay Rd., and just restored my 80 Special to factory spec and got collector plates so I can afford to ride it at a reasonable price. Check the jetting on that bike, and the carbs and make sure the carbs are all the same. I remember Syd and me swearing over those carbs a number of times. :-) and Syd LOVED to upjet carbs.... And you're right, Syd is an awesome guy, we've been biking buddies for 25 years.Bone stock 1980 Special except for the exhaust and crashbars. Oh yeah, and the scabbard for the Winchester Defender.
