I haven't gotten the bike out yet because I still have 2 feet of snow. I will test it out ASAP. However, I like Ted's suggestion. It seems simple enough. My plan was to use the negative lead off of one of our coils first and see what it reads. Although with a wasted spark ignition I am not sure which wire is the negative lead, or if we even have a negative lead. I was going to use a process of elimination to find the correct one. Anyhow, I spoke to a guy that has a kz1100 and that's what he did. It originally read high so he put a 10K ohm resistor inline on the tach wire to get the signal down. He says it works great. It's worth a shot. If it works then it might become a popular mod. I am also working on my LED headlight mod.
