I went a little overboard on the pinstriping, but here's the general idea...

That'd be bought as good as it gets Nate, and goes with the rest of look.

Oh my! That is one large trunk. I really didn't see the first time I browsed the post. You could put a pocket motorcycle in there in case you break down.

I don't think that it is quite the right proportions, just a quick photoshop job to get the general idea.

Gotta keep the combat boots and Kevlar vest somewhere.

Here ya go...smaller and the color is closer to the high-pressure-sodium illuminated night shot.

                Hi Nate,
I know it's a photoshopped concept photo but is it really that big?
If so, mount it on the right hand of the bike and put a wheel on t'other side.

Okay, okay! So I might suffer from a condition where I think certain things are bigger than they really are! This is too boxy to hang on the side...it really needs the "speeding bullet" profile to make a nice looking side car. On the other hand, it's probably not too far from reality to use an xCargo car-top carrier as a cargo side-car. Hmm...... Anyway, I dropped the size another 20%, so let me know if it should be smaller yet!

Lol, my first thought when I saw that pic was a collection of pieces stuck together. It fits with the seat, I think. Honestly, that black patch of paint on the side of the tank throws everything off. It'd probs go great together as-is with that tank area yellow.

Nate- I have been holding my thumb over different parts of that pic over & over. The trunk looks good as-is. Whatever makes YOU happy is what matters. I say ride it exactly how you have it. I do have a trunk I can put on my bike like your's if I ever need it. It's some cheap thing, and it works great. So, if it looks good on mine, your's will look equally as well, if not better.

Paint it yellow to match the bike and add just two pin stripes high and low. Leave the ammo cans the way they are. my 2cents

First bike was an: 1978 XS1100
                            Second bike is an FJR1300.
                            Now I'm restoring a '79 XS1100.

Got the yellow on now. After looking at it more the size of the different sections of the trunk aren't quite big enough to do a scallop on. You can see what I am talking about in the first pic here. So I have to do something else.

So I just quickly put a couple stripes of tape down to get an idea.

                              Without rails:

With rails (not quite held straight):

I am not good with paint schemes so that's why I ask opinions.
