    Need battery advice

I need a new battery for my XJ and I came across this in my search, wondering if it will work properly.

    Go back to walmart!
    Hey there,

See this link, it shows the model # of the battery to look for on the shelf at Walmart!:

They come DRY, but with the acid container that you pour in, then you charge it up with a 2amp trickle charger overnight BEFORE you put it in use, to get the most capacity out of the battery! Should be about $50.00.

I read a post that said the battery has to have "18" in the part number, my old one is a Bike Master SB50-N18L-AT. The XJ has a sensor that plugs into the top of the battery...I'm guessing the XS does not have this sensor so I wanted to be sure I get the correct battery.

    Thanks.

Ignore the sensor. It's just a PITA.

There are posts on here on how to fool the battery light.

The Wal-mart battery has the extra hole for the battery sensor if your bike still has one.

If you buy one, put the acid in at the store. One I bought, and one that another member of the forum bought both did not have enough acid in the SEALED acid container. Which we did not find out till we got home. Which necessitated another trip to the store.
