go this dirty ol dawg apart and ready for a good scrubbing
remove tank, Air dam, seat ect... and a few hours of scrubby scrubby
the frame of this old bike is in exultant shape and all the rubber bushing look in good shape very little ware. Not bad for 47K miles well maintained I gotta say.
time to remove the rattle can deluxe paint job
other stuff going on: advice would be helpful
Removing front tire and replacing-in in progress waiting on tire to come in the mail
Replace tail light lens- need new lens for left side if any one can has one hit me up
Air dam- Fiber glass..... how da funk do I get this paint off without killing it? also where do I find a new wind screen, the one on the bike is cut down and cracked.
Seat- Cover/replace the metal part is good but the seat is made form an old leather jacket... not kidding
LEDs- one idea it on the front cal to trace the original pin striping with white led strips, tucked under frame will be red green or blue
Paint Idea's: frame staying Black
fire engine red tank and air dam is what I'm leaning too, pics links welcome show me what you got! need ideas. (no I'm not going to just google it that spoils all the fun)
Also: looking for saddle bags, trunk, and mounting gear not really important at the moment.
found a full service manual online figured I would share: http://www.ringler.us/xs1100/YamXS1100Manfull.pdf
Cheers.
