I got a parking ticket today with the bike but I was hoping a cop would stop me so they can check the vin lol and she cop lady checked it and there is no title history on the bike ever and I'm using my aturnies to get me a court date with a judge so he can award me the bike so titleing it will be no problem. And I'm only 19 and I knew my hand signals lol but if someone around doesn't know them then it helps to have power so I can jump in frount with out getting crushed and I'm taking pics today for you all

But I know you guys like the bikes stalk but I'm making it a bobber its my money and time and ill get it done so ill keep my build posted

            Here's a IMG :

Rat, don't take too much offense from the 'purists', like you said it's your bike do what you want, they just want you to actually finish it and not give up and then there'd be another chopped up XS11 out there with no good home.

Interesting paint job on the carbs. And looks like the left side crash guard is a little too close to the timing cover.
Any parts you're not going to use, please offer them up here to those that can really appriciate them.

              Hi Jeff,
first, here's the rant, I post it every time someone gets Sawzall-happy.
Why stop at hardtailing? Go all the way; rake the frame, extend the forks, scrap the fenders, remove the front brake, forward-mount the 'pegs, swap in a 3 quart gas tank with the Stars and Stripes painted on it, buy a set of white leathers, smoke up a joint and pretend you are Peter Fonda.
With rare exceptions most members bikes are Frankenbikes to a greater or lesser degree. Some through replacing collision damage with whatever the bike breaker has in stock that will fit, some through wanting a different spec, (bigger gas tank or different rear drive ratio and almost everybody swaps out the 'bars.)
Your photos show your Standard has the round headlight from a Special, the seat needs serious work and the stock air filter has exchanged for pods. I think those are the pods that block off the small air intakes around the carb main intake. A cheap fix is extend the pods backwards with plumbers fittings.
So long as you leave the rear suspension intact and only mess with the brakes to improve them, any changes you make will not endanger your health so they are OK by me.

                  Hi George,
the rant is a literary analog of a refinery flare stack. The 20' flame at the top harmlessly burns off leaking volatiles to keep them from blowing the plant up.
And I do realize that sidecars ain't for everybody. Honest.
They do keep us old farts on the road without us having to limit our rides to the little lightweight bikes that our shaky legs can still hold upright at stop signs.
And a sidecar is a great chick magnet

                          Hi Jeff,
congrats on the MIG, if you are a MIG beginner, work on your technique.
If it's not operated right a MIG will lay a bead that looks perfect but has no penetration at all.
Before you dismiss a sidecar as just wheels for the elderly and the handicapped, consider this:-
A sidecar will carry a dozen 12-packs plus ice unseen beneath it's tonneau so it's operator is very popular on club runs.
It will also carry a young lady to a formal occasion without her having to change out of her leathers and into her party dress in the powder room.

No I know how to mig I have 5 years of expiearance and worked as a welder and gone to school for it so my bike welds will look better then a robot welds lol but I have thought of a way to do the bike on my way to bobbing it so I can build it twice on one build lol which is by adding a tractor seat adding the rear fender to sit down low and choping the rest of the rear frame right up to the top shock mounts making it a tweeked cafe racer look and I'm going to cut and move the frount forks adding a v on the under side of the pivitiong spot so it sits lower. And I'm in the pprocess of getting allll the wire out of the bike other then break light and headlights and coil pack

But rode with a buddy he has a 82 650 looks like an xs but its not the same name but his bike smokes mine in acceliration and mine only tops out at 120 then it starts to cut out bad and cuts out when accelirating normal so carbs need rebuilt is my guess?? And I'm. Only getting maybe 30 mpgs should it be better

The title I got figuered out its expensive I got to get a bond title for it but then I. Was told to look into a salvage title? Easier maybe? But any one have any way to get a title for a builder bike or barn find bikes cuz that's what my bike is its had the vin ran and it has no history ever of being titled... verry odd I think but not stolen or reported missing

Ill make a list of every thang I'm getting rid of so someone else can use the parts

They purge old unregistered vehicles from the motor vehicle systems after so many years of not being registered. So it isn't that it has not been titled, just that it hasn't been titled since it was purged due to not being registered.
