I'm not sure I want to know what they plan on doing with my muffler for five days after I buy it. Might have some additional "pitting" by the time they are done with it.
Also realize their is a baffle inside there that can rot out and is not at all easy to find. I found one when I rebuilt the SG last winter, but even that was not the correct part, but I was able to make it work with some cutting and welding.

I have a universal SuperTrapp muffler i never installed...I was planning to attach it to MAC headers...but before i did that I found the Kerker thats I put onto the Maxim...I am not sure if its 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" though...I will sell it for $190 not incl. shipping...its brand new and never been used...
whatever you want to do its your call but $350 for a dual MAC
setup aint cheaper than buying a universal muffler...so other than getting a cenetrstand youre not saving anything...

Putting a new $200 muffler on my rusty old headers is like putting lipstick on a pig.
I wish it wasn't so.
If I am going to spend 200, I may as well spend 350 and do it right.
I can get new headers, new mufflers, and be able to add a center stand.
Changing oil without removing the exhaust plus, everything else that is made easier with a center stand is desirable.
You are correct a new mac system will be more money than a new muffler.
Nothing wrong with your muffler, just does not go with what I have to work with.
Again, thanks for asking, it may have been a beautiful deal for both of us.
Hold off on purchasing a new Mac 4-2 for a week or two if you can? I also have a really nice Mac 4-2 system with the slash cut turn out mufflers that I removed from one of my bikes. I am probably not going to use it as I think I will be going the 4-1 route with another pipe I have for that bike. Just want to check a few things before I let it go. Probably would be in the $225 ish price range + shipping.
Thanks, Bob
Who knows, maybe I should love her the way she is.
I have a goog running bike, she is just loud and full of pimples.
But, .........she runs like the wind. Ha
Does the muffler need to have a bend at the inlet or straight? I am on the same page as you as far as cost. Did someone mention an Emgo universal with an adapter? Those new are $40- $70 each. You could try an inexpensive brand new glasspack- maybe you will like it. How about a Harley muffler? They are really really cheap or a stock muffler removed from a sportbike?
The best thing so far is a short glass pack.
They come in all sizes and are very inexpensive.
I assume the glass pack will be very loud, but worth a try.
I cannot find the Emgo universal in a 2 1/2 size.
I believe a no bend muffler will work if it is short.
Longer mufflers will have to have a bend.
Currently a few Supertrapp cans on eBay for a great deal, sure the bids will prob go up a touch, but still it'd probably end up better than $70-80. There's one on there now with a current bid of $25 with a $12 shipping charge...
