Well guys, just to let everybody know Pat Kelly (XStremely XSive) says he's got one I can get from him. Yea Thanks allot. Kudos great XS'r.

Car headlights are just what they are called CAR headlights they are not built to task the punishment of a motorcycle.

To another note has anybody tryed to remove the metal from the back of an existing healight? To reinstall on a car headlight. Mine seems to be expoxied in. Or what do yall think about modifing an existing metal backed bulb to accept a Halogen H4 type bulb.

I am going to look into this also. If anybody has an idea let me know.

    Dave

The 2 that I have are designed to take a H4 bulb. Watch eBay, they turn up there on a regular basis.

Hi Geezer [XStremely XSive] Where did you get rectangular headlight on ebay? Is yours marked with a mfg & part number? I have been a regular user on ebay for about 6 months and have never seen one that would fit the standard bucket with the adustment screws & does it take the standard chrome bezel & ring from my old one.

By the way I bought one about 2 weeks ago that was advertised as original light. When I went to install I figured out I was duped. They sent me a Wagner car headlight with no tabs for adjusting. Dumb me I have thrown away the shipping box with return address and have no way of b**** about it.

          I'm confused

Ok now I'm wondering I have seen tip and discussion about a reserve lighting never really paid much attention but I just kinda assumed it meant that the headlight had a spare filament that it switched to when the primary filament burnt out. Probobly because thats how we do it in submarines for our navigation lights that we would have a real hard time changing Underway. I guess this must work different somehow because a standard car bulb certainly doesn't have one unless it jusyt uses the High beam filament powered through a resistor to keep it from totaly blinding oncoming traffic. At least I hope so (not something I want to do meeting a blinded cage driver on a narrow road).
Not real important just trying to learn something the easy way. I ask and somebody tells me.

OK now you have me totally confused. Why are you talking about reserve lighting unit and submarines.

I've seen several over the past few months. I'm not positive but I think the seca uses the same headlight as the XS11 but has a different shell and ring. I won't be able to confirm this until I get my garage clean enough to get to the back where my spares are.

Vetter / Parcifico Fairing sq headlight

                Hi guys,

Sorry I can't add to your current discussion but I would like to know if this faring (whatever it is) is still available. I quiet like it and might want one.

I have never seen one in South Africa. Incidently I also have a 78e model which I am busy restoring for touring hence the question about the fairing.

Check out ebay. Do a search for Vetter, and just keep checking. They are pretty hard to find. I've been searching ebay for about 6 months and have never seen this one. If you do find one beware of the headlight problem.
