brake rebuild problems

    roger that, i had the seal on correctly in the first place, but didnt hurt to double check, so everything is back together and i did the yamabond on the reservoir. so ill reassemble tommarow and see what happenes, thanks!

      ok got the front all squared away, i think it was that spooge hole. but either way didn't hurt to take it apart again to double check, except i broke the aluminum clamp/bracket while tightening the bolts so i ordered this, since his old cap was broke anyways i figure ill give him that also




      so now on to the rear again, its working but not perfectly, so i think it needs the reservoir also removed and cleaned. is there the infamous spooge hole in that one?

            awesome thanks! yea got it off and cleaned all that up again but still no pressure in the rear brake any ideas on that one, i do have a 1 piece stainless line for the rear.

              Resolved brake problems

              I still had weak front brakes today and just did the great trick with tying down the lever and having a few Rum and Cokes (I don't know if you recommended that?). I put Teflon on bleeders as stated and viola. And as was said the mighty vac hand pump didn't do s&$t. Its weird that such a small system is so difficult to bleed. I was impatient as well. I put in a M/C rebuild once and did it again(duh) I did calipers with grease gun trick and it was phenominal (-10 spelling) Some of the bolts on the bike are the size of the Banjo Bolt (Axel pinch?) So as recommended take your time and the advice.

                why do yall think im being impatient? i clearly stated above that i sat there for 3 hours pumping the front brake....thats patience. the front is fine, its the rear thats not working at all. and i still have to get to the carbs. this is a customers bike and iv had it for over 2 weeks, hes getting pissed, ****.

                  Impatient customer with a classic ole' muscle bike..............not hardly a good combo............

                      Sit down at the side of the bike and really look at the route the brake line takes from the MC to the caliper. It goes up and down, with places a bubble can float up to and stay.
                      If you want them gone, you have to make every part of the line slope up, so the bubbles go to the MC or the wheel cylinder.
                      The other way is to pump brake fluid through the lines faster than the bubble can float back to the high spot, which lets the fluid flush the bubble out. Take a pressure pot full of fluid, and a way to catch the overflow.
                      Do you have a way to sling the back or the front of the bike up about three feet, like from a rafter? That might help. Or, since it sounds like you are doing this commercially, you might set the front or back wheel on your lift, and jack it up that way. After an hour or so, set it back down, and if the bubble went to the wheel, bleed it one more time. If it went to the master cylinder, and you have the spooge hole open, the air should be in the reservoir, and you are good to go. CZ

                          can i get a picture of the rear MC's piston and seals so i can make sure they are on correctly also. the bottom seal that is closest to the spring keeps coming off my piston, not sure if it is supposed to do that or not.
