needle jet/emulsion tube thread size?

Well my new kits from Georgefix.com did not come with new needle jets so I guess I will have to chase the threads on the buggered one. Does anyone know the thread size for the main jet to emulsion tube size and pitch? Where to get such tool? Thanks in advance

Not sure what you are calling the needle jet but I would think his kits come witj new main jets. The emulsion tubes are discontinued and I do not know of anyone selling them NOS or aftermatket. I am going to see if I can get some machined but it will be a little while before I have any for sale. See here...

Must be a terminology thing b/c when I think jet (needle jet) I think metered orifice not meetering rod therefore the needel does not fit hit description.

Needle jet and emultion tube are the same thing. Jet needle is the actual needle itself.

Lmao yes emulsion tube treads got a little buggered when I extracted it. Another thread mentioned 5mm x .75 pitch. Not sure if that's correct for my 80' carbs

81H metering rods are among the unobtanium. 81Special 5GL16 metering rods are available tho. Mate them with GenuineMikuni 110main jets that IS stock for 81Specials.

I can confirm the thread pitch is 0.75 on the main jet/emulsion tube, just checked one with a thread pitch finder gauge.

OK that problem is resolved...another issue is the new float needle seats I got from Georgefixs.com don't wanna go into the carb body. Like their to wide to fit. George says they are press fit. So do I just hammer them in or trim a millimeter off below the o ring on the seat and cram them in?

Did you try some motor oil on the O-ring before trying to press it in? Is there any crud in the carb that would prevent the seat from being pressed in? Have you compared the new and old seats to make sure they are the same diameter?

They can be QUITE tight. I have used oil on them and still had to use a block of wood and a ball peen hammer to tap them in. Just make sure you keep the seat nice and square to the hole as you tap it into place.

Make sure the bore the valve seat goes into is clean; any corrosion can increase install difficulty by a lot and damage the o-ring. A bore brush from a gun cleaning kit works well for cleaning these...
