My bike has not been riden since 1989, i have the title but the man who's name is on it has passed away several years ago. The most recent sticker on the plates is also from 1989. I dont know how to go about geting the bike in my name, or if it is possible without having the title signed over.
Also, i've heard somthing about some states not issuing new titles for bikes older than 25 years old, is Illinois one of them? anyone dealt with this before?
I hate dealing with the DMV so i figured i'd ask the forum first.
(In rockford no matter when you go into the dmv you can guarantee at least a two hour wait. last time i was there was for CDL Written and driving tests, it turned into a whole day event.)
A little personal info: only 2 days of school left at Kishwaukee college, so i'm soon to get back to the fabulous world of pesticide application. It pays for my toys, mainly the xs11, and woodworking.
Any info you guys have will be great. thanks.
