I spent most of the day with Rasputan yesterday trying to tune my carbs and it runs rough and backfires. As per the schematic I installed passage plugs but are wondering if that may be a problem. The two main passages are not linked by a hole and as discussed on another thread. There were no plugs when I first opened the carbs. Also, I jetted them 115 in the center and 110 on the outside when the original was 110 on all four. Also discovered that I am missing the small washers and rubber seals on my idle adjust screws. Any thoughts?

Your carbs do not use the plugs. Get those out of there. The jetting will make it tune different but it should run and tune. Without the washers and o-rings you mix screws will not work properly. You can order new screws, or I have bought washers and ground them down to size. I have the nitrile o-ring kit from HF that had the right size in it.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

If they are gone Radio Shack sells a bag of small washers, find they ones that fit over the mix screws and use your dremel tool with the cut off wheel holder, center the washer on the tool and use a file to turn them down.
Buy a foot of weed whacker fuel line and cut a O-ring seal off the end. Takes a few tries but will work.76 XS650 C ROADSTER

The nitrile oring kit from Harbor Freight is like $3 and has orings for the mixture screws, the needle seat inserts, the drain plug orings, and various other things.

I wondered what HF was. Have heard that the original parts are available from Suzuki but are very expensive. Evidently model plane shops have a good selection of small washers.81H Venture - hope to ride summer 2013
