I know you said it is Sunday. In Denver, a lot of shops are closed on Mondays too. If you can find a smaller shop that does different makes of bikes, they will probably be able to make one for you for longer term. Home depot or lowes might have spools of cable for hanging pictures and such. Find ends for the cable that will work and go with that.

I just saw this. Probably too late. I have one. But would have to send it in the morning. I wish I would have seen this yesterday, it would have been a great excuse to ride to Winslow. It's about 4 hours away.80 SG XS1100

that'd work for a Sunday temporary fix.
Pull the clutch cable from it's original route under the tank to give it more room because it's gonna get shorter.
(FWIW, I run my clutch cable in a single open air swoop from clutch to lever; it cuts the cable pull effort in half.)
Pull off the outer cover's lever-end ferrule.
Slide the outer along the inner so you can snip an inch or so off the outer's end to free up enough inner to pass through the lever to be grabbed by the small visegrips.
Put the end ferrule back over the outer's snipped end.
Should get you going for a short while.
